100 Personal Care Kits now in Kagera

It is exciting to see photos of items made by Tumaini Fund Canada Crafters being distributed in Tanzania, Africa.  The Crafters who meet at St. Mary’s in Nanoose Bay on Vancouver Island recently made and sent another 100 Personal Care Kits for the girls in Kagera, Tanzania.

If you would like to help with this ongoing project, come to the Crafter sessions on the third Wednesday of each month, from 1:30 to 4 pm at 2600 Powder Point Road in Nanoose Bay.  St. Mary’s Church has generously given TFC the hall for the workbees.

Raising funds to send a pallet of handmade clothing and personal care kits

The Board of Directors wishes to express sincere thanks to the Crafters and to the parishioners of St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Nanoose Bay for their support of the quarterly bottle drives and White Elephant sales to raise funds for transportation expenses to send items to the needy in Kagera.

In June the willing helpers and all the guests contributed greatly toward the success of the second annual Strawberry Tea.

Happiness in being able to help

Members and friends of Tumaini Fund Canada have had three successful fundraisers since April.

All the funds raised are now being wired to Kagera to enable many to attend secondary school, to build a house, to purchase goats and bicycles.

We are thankful to St. Mary’s Church and the Nanoose community for supporting the 2 bottle drives and white elephant sales and the lovely Strawberry Tea. Strawberry Teadresses for Kagera

At the tea there were displays of the clothing made by Tumaini Crafters.  Beautiful baskets made by the ladies in Africa were available for sale, and we still have some if anyone would like to make a purchase. All money raised is sent to help the orphans and desperately poor families in Kagera, Tanzania.

The Importance of Education and How it Can Change Lives!

Learning is the key to a better future and improved standard of living. Tumaini is making a difference in the lives of about 25,000 orphans, but there are many thousands more who desperately need help.  Please consider helping so that before too long all 200,000 orphans in Kagera will have the opportunity to attend school or to be trained in a vocation.                TUMAINI PROVIDING EDUCATION
