40-60% of the population (of about 2 million) is at risk with dwindling or no food supplies at this time. Between Chato and Biharamulo, all over Karagwe, in Bushubi the fields of dry, stunted dead corn mean no food for the children.

Tumaini is responding, but needs much more help. Please pray for rain for the crops and pray for all those who are starving.

This 3-year old boy is cared for by his 6-year old sister in a home that also houses goats!  There are many, many thousands of orphans needing food, shelter, clean water, and clothing.

Many of us take for granted the luxury of flipping a switch to see in the dark making it easy to work in the evenings. The orphans and poor families in remote areas of Kagera do not have that luxury.  Recently gifts of solar lamps were distributed at the Kitushya Secondary School and the students were most appreciative of these gifts from Canadian donors!2016-distribution-of-canadian-donated-lamps
